Panel 1

A ration stall boasts that its queue moves every forty seconds while most residents bake beyond a narrow awning.

Caption: The clerk measured the line in minutes. The sun used skin.

CLERK: Fastest queue in the ward.

Panel 2

An older resident stumbles just outside the shade; the timer still rings proudly.

TIMER: ON TARGET.

Panel 3

A steward marks the ground where shade ends and stops the counter, unfurling patched canopies while handle-out cups appear.

STEWARD: Shade is capacity.

Panel 4

The line is slower under broad cover with water available; the timer hangs silent beneath a dead-five wrench.

Caption: The service lost six minutes and stopped spending people.

CLERK: New record?

STEWARD: Fewer fainted.
